Day 1: Arrival at kayhmandu.
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you will be welcomed heartily by company representative at the airport and transfer to hotel with a short briefing session reflecting ancient local tradition, shrines and temples found over here. Overnight in Kathmandu. (1000m)
Day 2:
kathmandu sightseening Tour.
Visit World Heritage site in Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square , Patan Durbar Square , Pasupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath ( also called Monkey Temple)as a half day trip . Overnight stay in Kathmandu (1000m/280ft).
Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj .
It takes about half hours scenic flight to Nepalgunj to the domestic airport. Stay in Nepalgunj exploring the surrounding southern Nepal Border with India and Markey areas.
Day 4: Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal (Dolpo) (2320m/7610 ft).
Trek to Dunai (2850m/9348ft) which takes 2-3 hours walks. After flying to Juphal, a super scenic flight of 45 minutes brings you at Juphal over the Himalayan foothills, with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks to the north. Your adventure begins with the terraced fields to the Bheri River and the narrow gorge taking 2-3 hours camp at Dunai , Administrative headquarters of Dolpo region . Stroll around for local knowledge.
Day 5: Trek to Tarakot (2850m) from Dunai .
It takes 5-6 hours walk along the south bank of the river heading upstream on a good trail. A tremendous gorge with pine trees and an ingenious path builds about seven meter above the river to Tarakot where colourful terraced fields greets you. Tarakot is an old fortess town built by local people at Dzong / fort. The famed sandul Gompa lies farther east from Tarakot and at the junction of Barbung Khola and Tarup Chu river. The village stands on a hillock to the south of Bheri river at one time supervised collection of tolls for the trading caravens. Stay overnight in camp, 150m below thye village near the post office.
Day 6: Trek from Dunai to Khani Gaon (2543m).
It takes about 5-6 hours walks walking continuously to follow the Tarap Chu River upstream, crossing by bridge. The path leads through the farm terrace and rural villages of Sahartera and winding gradually towards a small settlement of Kola after 3-4 hours of good morning walk. From here, descend with few ups to reach overnight camp at Khani Gaon.
Day 7: Trek from Khani gaon to Tarap Khola (3450m) .
It takes about 4-5 hours walk walking upto the gorge of the Trap River, rising above on trail built out from steep slopes. The walk is quiet exciting as the valley becomes narrow gorge that in some places, you can jump from one side to another. Sometimes, the path vanishes for a while making our own path across stone slabs fitted on logs in between walls which act as a bridge. This gorge provides you unexpected adventures and thrill. In some places the bridge are either damaged or washed by the monsoon flood, and we may opt to across the cold tornent on foot. Stay overnight at camp.
Day 8: Trek from Tarap Kharka to Yak Kharka (3800m) .
It takes about 4-5 hours walk with a gradual up leading most scenic landscapes. You need Yak Kharka with your adventurous trek and stay overnight at camp in Yak Kharka.
Day 9: Trek to Pho Tarap (4090m) from Yak Kharka.
Today’s trail leads you at Kamattarka at the confluence of the Tarap Chu and Lang Khola, a stream flowing from the east. After short walk leaving narrow gorge upto the Kharka the path leads above the lines for Juniper bush and wild rose , typical of dry inner Himalayan valleys . Next 3 hours walk brings you to the village of Dho Tarap surrounded by irregular stone walls. In this valley, both Bon and Chaiba sects reside together. Tarap is also inhabited by few Tibetans and mostly Magars who have lived here for many generations.
Day 10: Rest day.
Rest day at Dhu Tarap for acclimatization to be free from the hassle of packing and dance to make friends with the locals who have hardly seen westerners. The Dolpo people wear home spun clothes dyed maroon. They favour Tobetan style somba or Dhocha (both with unturned toes) for footwear. Both men and women often wear religious amulets and strings of coral, amber and turquoise. The people of the region are both Bon po and Nyling Mapa of the Buddhist sect. The Buddhist Gompa is nearby to the camp while Bon Gompa (pre Buddhist) is about half an hours walk.
Day 11: Trek to Tokyu
Trek to Tokyu Gaun which takes 6-5 hours walk. Today your journey continues towards upper Tarap valley, the walk follows in this plain valley with patched of the hush verdant grass on both sides of the river which is completely different from other part of inner Dolpo. Then, you go up to Tarap Chu upstream all the way. Tarap Chu is certainly a dream valley with vast plains in high mountains extending 20km along the river. Tarap Chu having ten villages with cultivated fields of Barley, buckwheat, potatao etc. After about 3 hours of your adventurous trek, you walk to perfect tranquility area. Ie Tokyu. After visting this village, your walk continues further up this valley climbing up the rough track for almost another three hours to reach to the overnight saty in camp beneath the Numa la.
Day 12:Trek to Numa la.
Trek to Numa la with the scenic & pleasant views of high altitudes. Today you feel rather difficult since the path leads you rather rocky.
Day 13: Cross Numa la (5190m) and camp at Phedi.
Your journey continues to crossing of Numa La pass at 5190m , the track leads to steep climb all the way to the top ridge of Numa La with great views of the surrounding landscapes scenery of valleys , mountain including north face of Dhaulagiri massif along with other distance snow capped peaks. This is one of the long and difficult days during the trek. After crossing Numa La, you will descend another bottom park at Phedi. Stay overnight at Phedi.
Day 14:Cross Baga La (5070m).
Cross Baga La (5070m) and camp on the other side of the Phedi (4470m) which offers fantastic views of the surrounding landscapes and of the distant snow capped peaks of Kangirowa Himal range. After a glorious moment at the pass, almost three hours of downhill walk takes to the Phedi.
Day 15: Trek to Ring mo (3600m).
which takes about 6-7 hours walk through pine forests , leaving the forest behind the country . There you can see vegetation change for pasture fields and alphine shrubs to the most of the way to Ringmo and the crystal serene lake of Phoksundo.
Day 16: Rest day at Ringmo for a hike to Phoksundo Lake.
This is pleasant day free from the Hassel of packing and high chance of exploring Buddhist monastery, well worth of this visit. It also makes you mindful after exploring lake areas with great views from the camping.
Day 17: Trek to Chepka (2260m).
Today’s trail follows the massif overhanging rock with manu important medicinal minerals. These medicinal minerals are supposed almost anything in this region. You pass through the villages before climbing the pasture at Chepka.
Day 18: Trek to Juphal.
Trek to Juphal gently sloping upwards to Juphal. You meet tall bird trees on the way with most spectacular ways of the mountain and Juphal below. Utmost caution is required while trekking along this trail. You can explore the busy market town pursuing whatever you like.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu to Nepalgunj.
