Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest Base Camp is a classic walk from Lukla to Kala Patthar to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain. It’s taken million of years and unimaginably powerful forces to create this mountain range. Everest base camp trek itinerary quest right into the heart of Himalaya , taking into the famous trading town of Namche Bazzar , the world’s highest Buddhist monasteries and Everest base camp itself , where Sir Edmund Hillary & Tenzing Norgay set off on their epic journey in 1953 . This trek leads you on a mesmerizing passage through famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazar, Tengboche monastery while relishing the breath taking sights of Mt. Itinearary in Details

 

Day 1:Arrival at kathmandu.
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you will be welcomed heartily by company representative at the airport and transfer to hotel with a short briefing session reflecting ancient local tradition, shrines and temples found over here. Overnight in Kathmandu. (1000m)

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseening Tour.
Visit World Heritage site in Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square , Patan Durbar Square , Pasupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath ( also called Monkey Temple)as a half day trip . Overnight stay in Kathmandu (1000m/280ft)

Day 3: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m).
This flight takes about 30minutes and leads toward Phakding. From Lukla you will pass Chauri Kharka village and makes descend towards the Dudhkoshi Ghat (2530m). The trail follows the bank of Dudh Koshi River until camp at Phakding (2652m), Even then, you will have the opportunity to trip to monastery as well.

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namchhe Bazar (3440m).
This trail starts along a level path crossing Dudhkoshi river over a long suspension bridge, walking through beautiful pine forest. This leads you along the river of Hillary suspension bridge. Today in route you will see first view of Mt. Everest. The trail further climbs to Namchhe Bazar, a gate way to Mt. Everest and main trading centre of this region.

Day 5: Namchhe Bazar (3440m).
Today you will acclimatize to spend a day rest to high altitude before heading off towards Tengboche. You walk to Khumjung where you can visit monastery. Khumjung is densely populated area of Sherpa community where you can enjoy with the views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Tawache and so on. After walking an hour, you will reach Syangboche (3800m) where Everest view hotel is situated above Namchhe for an outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, AmaDablam, Thamseeku, and Kusum Kangara. You will also see National park center and museum just above the town which is full of with Sherpa Culture.

Day 6: Trek from Namchhe Bazar to Tyangbocche (3867m).
Today’s trail leads up to village for a climb to the top of a ridge and level mountain path that offers an excellent panorama of Thamserku , Kantega and Kusum Kangrib . To the right, there is a steep cliff drop down to Dudh Koshi, faintly visible on the valley floor below. After a gentle descent, the mountain path ends. You will come to the fork leading to Gokyo. You descend pass tea houses through the village of Trashinga. As you climb to forest zone, the incline ease and splendid view appears. Continue climbing the mountain side diagonally until you come to stone gate built by Lamas, an entry gate to Tyagbochhe (3860m). You may use the large plateau in front of the splendid monastery as your campside. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Trek from Tyangbocche to Dingbochhe (4260m).
After leaving Tyangbocche your trail leads to Minlinggo through mountain path crossing over a suspension bridge to the left bank of Imja Khola . Climb the mountain path looking up at Ama Dablam and Kantega (6779m) as they appear the opposite bank. You ascend the Chorten Lined route, come to a fork, the upper path passes Pangbocche and monastery, take the lower path to Pangbocche and it’s stonewall enclosed potata fields. Escorting to the rocky area to terraced hills along the river bank. The trails climb slowly winding above the Imja valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse& Lhotse with views of the eastern snow capped mountains including the Island Peak. Dingbochhe is a beautiful patchwork of field enclosed by the stone walls protecting the crops of Barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals.

Day 8: Trek from Dingbocche to Lobucche (4930m).
This rail takes about five & half hours. The onward journey leads north for ypto 50 minutes until you come to many prayer stupas. The trail follows a downward path to Pheriche valley. You will view Mt. Tawache, AmaDablam and to the North Pokland (5471m), Kongma- Tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. The trail from Pheriche joins near Dugla (4595m) befores a small wooden bridge over a river of Khumbu glacier. You will stay at Dugla before continuing for an hour up a steep hill to the top where there are views of Mt. Pumori & other peaks west of Everest. Continue trekking upto Lobucche, hidden and Sheltered from the wind.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base camp (5486m).
Through Gorakhshep (5180m), trek up to valley following rocky moraine path, view icy glacial ponds and icebergs down below the Khumbu glacier. After the last rocky moraine dues, a short downhill walk brings you to Gorakhshep, the flat field below Kala Pathar (5545m) and Mt. Pumori (7145m). Gorakhshep is the location of original Everest Base Camp with the new camp being further up the valley. The trail winds through rocky path and the Khumbu glacier. The view of Nuptse, Lho-la and Khumbutse appears at the front of you. The avalanche can offer you to touch and play. After witnessing a great moment, you retrace your steps back passing through the Khumbu glacier with magnificient views of Lobuche, Cholaste, Mt. Pumori and Tabuche.

Day 10: Trek from Gorakhshep to Kala patthar (5545m) and then to Pheriche (4243m).
Trek from Gorakhshep to Kala patthar (5545m) and then to Pheriche (4243m) takes you to accomplish the tremendous success climbing to Kala Pathar (5545m) with the beautiful scene of sunrise. From Kala Pathar, you can have a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse etc. Yaks are used as four legged porters in this area. Pheriche, a windy town of that region offers you the view to watch the perpendicular walls of Cholatse and Tawache. Foreign volunteer doctors and the Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post are available here to provide medical treatment to trekkers as well as local people.

Day 11: trek from Pheriche to Tyangbochhe (3867m).
Trek back to Tyangbochhe an easier descend passing through rhododendron forest and continue walking to Tyangbochhe , a small famous village having monasteries and offering splendid views of Ama Dablam , lush green hills and thick snow river .

Day 12: Trek from Tyangbochhe to Namche Bazar (3440m).
Today, your trail lends down mostly from downhill on the main busy trail with less steep climbs for an hour from the bridge of Phunitenga, near to Shanasha. The walk to Namche is very scenic since your in route will visit traditional villages of Khumjung and Khunde. Few 30 minutes walk brings you to the village of Khunde where you can visit the khunde hospital funded by Sir Edmund Hillary Trust. After Khunde, a scenic and pleasant walk brings you to Namche for an overnight stay.

Day 13: Trek from Namche to Phakding (2886m).
This Trail descends steeply for about one and half hours. After that the path has small ups and down to Phakding through Monjo.

Day 14: Trek from Phakding to Lukla (2886m).
This final day trekking follows the Dudhkoshi back down to Lukla. This last evening in the mountain is the ideal opportunity for a farewell party with Sherpa guides and porters, taste purely brewed local beer and do a jig to Sherpa dance.

Day 15: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu and whole day rest provides a good reminiscent of trekking in Everest Base camp.

Day 16: Transfer to International airport for your final departure by the representative.
