Everest Region Trekking
Located in the North east Nepal-China border, the Everest Region (locally known as Khumbu region) is home to a UNESCO World heritage site, the Sagarmatha National Park. The area consists of rugged landscape of high mountains including Mt. Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8501 m) Cho Oyu (8153 m) and other popular peaks, glaciers, lakes, river valleys, world famous Monasteries, settlement of Sherpas, exotic flora and fauna and many more. This area has been developed as one of the best popular tourism destinations in Nepal mostly offering mountaineering and moderate to hard treks. The tourism infrastructures are well developed in the last few years. There are two possibilities to get to the Khumbu region. The more comfortable, faster though little expensive is the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (two ways) to do any of the popular treks in the famous Everest region.
It must be the dream of each and every visitor to Nepal to see (even to touch) Mt. Everest at least once in a life. The experience is much more intensive when you follow the beat of your own drummer and hike up to the area. The treks are designed for those who wish to experience this region without ascending to high altitude.
