Shivapuri Trek.

Shivapuri is located 13km north east of Kathmandu which is regarded as safe heaven for endangered species. This region accounts for one fourth of total water supply in the valley. Within its vicinity of 120 sq km , Shivapuri features eight species of endangered mammals , among them black and two other types of leopards , hundred and seventy seven different specied of birds, 102 different types of butterflies , 129 mushroom . The main rivers are Bagmati and Bishnumati in Kathmandu valley lie within Shivapuri watershed project. The Shivapuri rabge the highest hill stand at 2732m. Rhododendron blossoms throughout the hills in April / March.
It offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture and religion together with daily toil in the fields of its inhabitant. The valley rim lies around 1000/2800m and in the spring offers early flowering rhododendron and through the autumn and winter , wonderful mountain vistas which calls from certain view points stretched from Everest in the east to Annapurna in the west .

Itinearary in Details

 

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu.
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you will be welcomed heartily by company representative at the airport and transfer to hotel with a short briefing session reflecting ancient local tradition, shrines and temples found over here. Overnight in Kathmandu. (1000m)

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseening Tour.
Visit World Heritage site in Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square , Patan Durbar Square , Pasupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath ( also called Monkey Temple)as a half day trip . Overnight stay in Kathmandu (1000m/280ft)

Day 3: Trek from Kathmandu from Shivapuri takes 7 hours through Budanilkantha;
The starting of this trekking is less crowded and more pristine destination which provides excellent mountain views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Annapurna. The offering of nature provide the impetus to visit Shivapuri National park and nature lovers will have the close up view of mountain . For anyone wishing to truly get away from the distraction of urban life, it is perfect retreat. Lunch will be served at the ground of monastery just above trekking start point from where beautiful Kathmandu view can be seen in the clear day. Then after, you will climb up to Shivapuri hill.

Day 4: Trek from Shivapuri to Chisapani (2050m).
It takes 7 to 8 hours. You will start your trek on plain trail about 2 hour, the mountain greeting from your northern side (left side). On the top of the hill the fascinating sight welcoming and you will have your lunch here.

Day 5: Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2175m).
It takes 8 hours of trail towards Nagarkot (5/6 hours) crossing from the green mountains and natural hill field through local village. You will view very clear view of Himalayan range, mountain, Real Mountain and its natural scene, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to inspiring majesty and beauty.

Day 6: Trek from Nagarkot to Kathmandu.
It takes 2 hours walking down very slowly steeping down from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. Nagarkot is good place to see Himalayan panorama through a Himalayan river Valley. You will drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 7: Transfer to International airport for your final departure by the representative.

Note: The trek can be operated in both teahouses and camping (tented camp) on your request. The itinerary can be customized according to your duration of holiday. Similarly hotel can be upgraded or downgraded depend on your budget. Season: January till May, and September till December. Tour grade: Easy (A).
